Mirissa got involved with photography early on. These days her visual work ranges from photography to art direction to design (both print and web).
Since 1999 she's been with the San Francisco Bay Guardian alternative newsweekly. She spent several years as a staff photographer shooting an array of subjects from international stars to local politicos. Her photographs have appeared on the covers of alternative newsweeklies throughout the country as well as inside Ready Made Magazine, The Stranger, and more.
In 2006 she became the newspaper’s art director and spends time conceptualizing covers, directing photo shoots on location, and creating lifestyle magazines for one of the most progressive voices in American media.
